Hello! My name is Bulat Iraliyev, and I am a Visual Development Artist. Born in Almaty, Kazakhstan, I am now based in Burnaby, BC, Canada.

 

I remember, as a kid, I would get small assignments from my kindergarten teacher to draw on educational posters for other children. Little did I know that even as a 4-years old, seeing the happy faces of my peers would kick start my passion for Visual Arts and Entertainment. 

 

I graduated from Webster School for the Arts and later enrolled in Animation and 3D modelling for Visual Media at the Art Institute of Vancouver. 

 

As a student, I remember endlessly watching animation tutorials on YouTube to learn how to become an effective concept artist. My Art education, combined with a keen desire to become one of the best in my field, soon landed me a job right after graduation as a designer for Wild Brain Entertainment. Later on, I continued my career at Bron studios, working on animated cartoons such as "Henchmen" and "The Willoughbys."

 

As my career progressed, I had the pleasure to become the Art director for a pilot cartoon for one of the legendary video games from Sony, "Ratchet and Clank." In addition to having a lot of fun, the experience also taught me how to manage a team and effectively collaborate with talented individuals to create an amazing motion picture. 

 

While pandemic was on the rise, I was approached by Netflix to work on their feature film as a Visual Development Artist. This opportunity exposed me to work with some of the best heavy hitters in the Art industry. This undoubtedly remains one of the greatest highlights of my career.

 

Now, I have begun my next journey as a Freelancer. The skills I have honed over my career span and my passion for the Art industry motivates me to collaborate with individuals and companies who want to bring their idea to life.
